Offset scope on a nagant?

Trying to figure out what to do with my bastardized nagant, either reproduction scope which is too close for my eyes, or handguns cope, been banging my head against the wall for a cheap fix.

How about putting a normal 25mm tube 3-9 40x scope in a normal position, but offset to the left by an inch, maybe inch and a half. I think it would look stupid and it would have to be aimed to compensate for said offset, but I think it might be the best

Anyone done this approach, satisfied, lol at results?

Interesting info,,,,,,, I didn't know the military used ofset scopes on the M1 Garand. A question though, if already "bastardized" why not go all the way with a bolt mod?
