I feel like such a jackass! I was putting my swiss K11 back together after cleaning it and I broke the rear barrel band screw. It just snapped right in half.

Where am I supposed to find a replacement? I've tried Numrich, Trade Ex, even Google turns up nothing. Can anybody help me?

This might sound a bit 'bubba-ish' however, check some fastener companies for something really close. They specialize in these things and probably find you something that will work.

cheers,

How is your French? Its one of the languages of Switzerland. google should find you some Swiss gun clubs and message boards etc...

Contact customscrewsandmore.com in the USA. Scott will go out of his way to help you if he can. He's really cool to work with.
He made me a few screws including a Ross nosecap screw and a No1 Mk1 keeper screw. The prices are more than fair considering the work he does and the rarity of some screws.
I'm guessing your screw could cost you around $20
I dont know if he makes screws for k11's but if you provide him with all the right measurements and tread pitch i'm pretty sure he can make it.

If you take both pieces to a local welding shop they could tig/mig it together and you can then grind/file/sand to shape. Cold blue and you are back in business. Maybe a Timmie's gift card or donuts to get their attention! I use a local auto body shop for some odd jobs and they see me enough to just do the work in exchange for good referrals if it is a minor item.

Thanks for all the advice.

I'm a machinist / tool maker and I know how to make another one, the only problem is that the machines where I work aren't available for my personnal use. I'll try and buy one if I can.

Push comes to shove I'll make one at home.

So I've taken some measurements and the thread turns out to be M4.5 x 1. Usually, the industry standard pitches for that diameter are .75 or .5 so I can pretty much rule out modifying an existing screw.

I've put up an ad in the EE for now. If I can't find one within a reasonable time period, I'll go with the custom made option.

If you ever need French speaking assistance, feel free to PM me!

Martin

J'pense pas que ça sera nécessaire. Merci quand même.
