Just got my doe tag for WMU56! My hunting buddy though, he dropped the ball. I'd let him know when the draw opened but he has a lot on his plate and forgot that the draw ended at the end of June, not July like the old days. So, when he went to apply, he got the bad news that the draw was closed. Still, we have an antlerless and a buck tag. For the last two years we were skunked due to the mild weather. The mild weather lasted into bow season and we were set up for rifle only. I have the time and a Barnett Quad 400 crossbow this year, so if the gods smile on us, we'll have venison on the table this fall. I hope my fellow hunters fare well in the fall.

Eight of us apply in WMU 58. Last year we got zero doe tags. This year we got five.
Check the MNR website or call them and try to talk to a real person. I believe they have that information but it may be too early in the season for the results to be available.
