Hello there fellow gunnutz.

I'm new to the sport and only just recently finished jumping through all the marvelous hoops of gun ownership. I did the safety course in January with a group of friends, then got my license, club membership and LTATT - hooray! Start to finish I think it took all of 6 or 7 weeks. In that time, I also discovered this website. Wow, what a resource! I've been lurking and learning, a lot. One thing I've noticed is that now when I see a gun on TV, I'm trying to identify it instead of paying attention to the story. LOL

Hope to meet some fellow nutterz out on the range sometime!

Peace,
Kevin

PS - hey admins, I want to change my handle. I'm not the bigbear, my dad is...

6 - 7 weeks!!!
Took me 6 months here in Ontario to upgrade from PAL to RPAL!
From RPAL course to receipt of papers... 6 months!!

let the Ontario jokes start!

Hey bigbear37, welcome. As for name changes, they are normally only done when someone signs up with their real name. I like your handle!

Cheers
Jay

Welcome bear,

Not intending to brag, and I'm not that old, but I beat your time to enter the gun world, as it currently exists in Kanada.

When I started there was almost nothing you were forced to do. No club membership, no safety course, no FAC or PAL. Long guns sold over the counter to anyone without paperwork. No trigger locks, no safes or regulated "safe storage". Full auto was legal, readily available and treated same as handguns. Strangely there was far less crime and public fear than now...

Glad to have you aboard.

shop around for a gun that you like and do no pay some of the out of this world prices that are on here. buy quality guns that will last for many years with minor maintence and avoid norico junk.
