Looking for feedback from owners/weekend warriors who've had trigger time with the venerable remake of the original Browning BAR. Worth the money - if you can find one? Better off collecting a half dozen Garands instead? Anyone tried hunting with one?

Thx!

For the price of feeding, you might not get much trigger time.

for the price of them I wouldnt be able to eat let alone buy ammo for it . Arent they like $10,000. New they were $5500 USD

Apology I see Sarco has one for $6500 usd and a previous one sold in Canada for $13,000

They’re so bloody heavy.... cool, don’t get me wrong. But hopefully you have a well set up static position if you’re hunting deer with it. Shouldering it for any length of time might be an issue.

Do these fire from an open or closed bolt? I had a real converted auto BAR which fired from an open bolt. Maintaining the sight picture took some getting used to as the bolt ran forward and chambered a round. There are better choices for a hunting rifle where weight and easy handling matter.

There were semi auto only models before O-O made them. If it's not listed by name it's not on the list.

Rcmp didn't change their mind yet.
