Oil under rail

in my case, and 2 others i shoot with. The oil under the rail also got into the scope mount screws and they loosened during shooting.

We removed them, cleaned out the oil/lube thoroughly and loctited the screws.

If there is too much between the bottom of the hole and the screw, you won't be able to full tighten the screw because the oil is incompressible. So the oil will get out slowly over time, and the rail will become loose, and a loose rail equals bad precision... And oïl will prevent the loktite to stick efficiently, so you may have another problem with loose screw over time.
