I give up. I can't find any Federal Gold Match 210M primers *anywhere*. It seems people were smarter then me and when they saw any, purchased all of them.

I'd like match quality large rifle primers for my precision 308win rig. Can anyone make any recommendations? I haven't seen any CCI BR2 around either.

Thanks sistas & brothas!

I use regular CCI #200 large rifle primers and can shoot 1/2 MoA in my pseudo-match 308 if I do my part.
If you're a real precision shooter, not a skilled amateur as I consider myself, maybe they aren't good enough.

I've seen BR-2's pop up as in stock here and there over the past few months. Nothing is really in stock with any consistency lately, you just need to keep checking week after week, month after month, and buy them when you can.

I would count myself a skilled amateur as well; I did grab some CCI #200s just in case, so your statement makes me feel a lot better. I just wanted to keep on duplicating the loads I was making, they were soooo sweet.

From what I have read about Federals primers, The 210 Match and the 210 are no different except that the 210 Match come off of a separate line of machines that are more consistant giving a more consistant primer. As far as temperature and burn, they should give you the same load data. I purchased both 210M as well at regular 210 and swap them out without any notice on my .284. Few more duds in the 210 packaging. Maybe I am wrong and someone will educate me, but hasnt hurt me yet.

I know what you mean. I couldn't find CCI #200's for a while and was worried because the loads I had with the primers available (Winchester) weren't as good in my favourite rifle. I managed to find some when I was down to my last 200 CCI primers (switched to Winchester for all my loads that didn't show a preference) and immediately bought 2000 when I found them (all I could afford at the time on a student budget).

when i bought mine, the salesman informed me the only difference is the match primers pack a bit more punch and to take in mind the difference is about 1/2 a grain of poweder and to keep that in mind when building the ladder.

This is correct, according to ATK representatives. They get the seasoned compound applicators to do the primers, then they stamp them with a B or an M or something. Average pressures are the same, might be a bit less deviation in pressure. I would eat my hat if 95% of us could tell the difference on paper though, myself included.

I've shot two groups at 1040 yards with my 308 using varget , Lapua brass , 175 gr smks and Winchester regular primers that averaged bout 5 ". So I don't buy into the whole match primer thing.did I hit the bullseye ??? No. 1.2 " group at 600 as we'll ( haven't done it since lol ) again didn't place in bullseye. Since getting great groups thru diligent and strenuous handload development I think it's equally important to get a handle on the wind thing.

Also. Maybe try magnum primers if you can get those.but I'll keep an eye out for you as we'll.

That's a good point, my wind reading kinda sucks anyways and needs a lot of practice, so undue worry is probably being put into primers. Besides, I can't complain, reloading is almost as much fun as shooting, and now I get to do more of both :)

This isn't the case at all, same primer just may or may not be more consistant. The Federal match primers wont have any more "punch" than the non match primers.

Yeah that's the thing. The shipping restrictions make it such a pain in the ass unless you're buying a huge amount. When you want only a couple hundred it's not quite worth the extra hassle, so I look anytime I'm near a place.

If anyone is looking Cabela's has stock just got 10000 F210M with free shipping. Don't change the Qty to 1000's order in singles and it will allow you to order as many as you like I got two cases both from the same lot. They also have CCI BR2 in stock if anyone is looking.
