I can get a zeiss 20x60 x 85 diascope for about 1800, a swaro ats 20x60x65 for about 1800 and a leica televid 20x60x77 for about the same, a hair cheaper, anybody have any of these?

Although the zeiss is a 85mm obj and the swaro is the smallest with leica running up the middle, the scopes will all suit my purpose.....\

Ideas?

My wife and I have the Zeiss. Its Nice. I've not compared side by side, but something tells me you can't lose any way you slice 'em!

Got a lightly used Leica Televid 77 (angled, with 20-60x eyepiece) last year and, while it's quite a bit bigger than my old Bausch & Lomb spotting scope, the image is in a different class altogether (incredibly sharp).

If you're able, take them outside and try them side by side. I did that with the Zeiss (Czech made), a Leica 62 and a Leupold. The Leica had the best long-distance resolution, for sure. Not sure how the Swaro would do, but I would expect it to be very similar to the Leica. (Bear in mind that the new Swaro and Leica's are available in an HD version).

Cheeck for demo's on nycameraland.com Doug is great to deal with, I bought a nice Pentax off him last year and a couple of pairs of bino's.

His banner is above.

Swarovski has some of the best warranty going. Friend of mine had an issue prior to a hunt and he got a loaner until his was fixed. To my knowledge no other optic company will do this.

Such high grade service is the reason why I wouldn't buy a Swaro product from the States and import into Canada. Swaro Canada will not warranty it. Swaro USA will not warranty it as you are not a US citizen. Swaro Austria is your only warranty in such a situation and expect the shipping to counter any savings buying Stateside.

Have the Swarovski 20-60 HD / angle and really like but have not made a fair comparison with anything else but as far as binos, sent my ziess in for 20 yr. maintenance and they cleaned & tightened them up like new and I got them back at N/C. My Swarovski which were junk (not their fault / used and abused) were actually replaced with brand new ones at N/C. So I can attest to those two companies service program.

Different eyes see things differently

So very true. I have seen it first hand with many different very high end binoculars between different people.

The Leica would be my choice because it just works for my eyes. At this level all are good, get what works best for you and don't listen to what works for others(within reason). Your eyes and the way they react to optics are different than every one elses.
