I think I go buy a few mouser at the next gun (real nice one's) and bubba the carp out of them in protest... :D

You know my friend, in some circles that would be considered heresy with the penalty being burned at the stake..... :p

Fortunately, I usually get to those gun show tables ahead of you and rescue them before you get there ..... :D

Speaking of which, did you grab anything at the Port Perry show BadgerDog?

No, I couldn't go .... :(

~Angel~ wanted me to go with her to a Dachshund (German for BadgerDog ... ;) ) Racing Match, so she could enter one of her two Dachshunds (Rosie). I had to be the handler, who gets to hold the dog at one end of a field, while ~Angel~ stands about 50 yards away and then the starter hollers go!

"Rosie" the Dachshund won first place, but these are the most bizzare dogs you ever want to see running flat out in full form. :D

I got sunburned and was thinking most of the time, I wonder if Sgt. Striker beat me to the tables for anything good .... :p

Badger

Lol, well at least you'll be in the good books for a while eh :)

I couldn't make it either but a good friend, K_Roc on the forums, made the pilgrimage (15 minutes or so). I got a phonecall at 8:00 and authorized him to pick me up a couple boxes of 7.5 french. The box and head stamp are all marked in arabic, must be Algerian surplus or something. Finally I'll be able to take out the MAS36.

If the ammo looks like Pic #51 in the photo montage of a 1936 MAS36 (click here)http://imageevent.com/badgerdog/forsale/193651masrifle that I recently sold, then the ammunition is French 7.5 (Egyptian). I understand it is corrosive, so make sure you clean well after firing.

It's definatly Egyptian. I'd planned to clean up after shooting anyway just to be safe. Thanks for the info, my arabic is a little rusty.

FWIW, I don't feel guilty about trading the M1 away SgtS... :) Being a lefty who hates chasing empties in the tall grass, the slow Bolt guns have a special place in the heart... lol.

OK, I confess...... I traded a Mauser for it ....

I've never seen an "all matching" and "all original" Garand in such gorgeous condition ..... :D

I'll do a photo montage for the MKB and ask claven2 to fill in the observations, since he's probably forgotten more about this rifle then I'll ever learn. ;)

"..."all matching" and "all original" Garand..." Rebuilt by somebody with too much time and money. And if the numbers on the parts match, faked.

Interesting that you know so much about this rifle and have never held it.

The rifle came from the Danish contract still in the packing grease. Breda DID factory match the wood to the receiver. This one is unissued, NOT rebuilt with original finish and all breda parts. Came new in the cosmolene, not even dane renumbered on the buttstock.

But then, you know what you're talking about so...

Read up on it - BIG diffrerence between WW2 GI guns and post-war Italian contract M1's. Many have NOT been rebuilt.

I also own a WWII Winchester Garand, an IHC Garand and soon 2 PB made M1's that "are" all origianal! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
