Well lost one to being full of water and another to ants(just full nuke the board). Have a Bushnell in my drawer that gets an amazing 4000 pics for 8 AA's problem is it takes them all in about 4 days. Have a spy point, Moule tree, wildlife Industries. Whats every one using and how do you like them. Getting sick of spending money on new cams every year...

I have been using Reconyx and they are very good. Pricey but good. Since biting the bullet and buying them my search is over. I just purchased one of their cellular enabled cameras and hunt it out yesterday. Can't wait to see what it can do.

I have 4. An old Moultrie i40, a scoutguard , a fairly new bushnell with view screen and a stealthcam scout.

They all have their plus and negatives but something I have decided on is not to spend a ton on any new camera. The bushnell was $230 and I worry about it going missing.

For a cheap camera, the stealth cam scout is decent ($ 80 @ Sportsman guide). Mine took 1000 pics of deer last week, and batteries are still strong.

I have had good luck with the SpyPoint 6.0 IR & lithium batteries. I have used batteries for OVER a year, taken TONS of pics and worked down to below -20 Celsius.

And, your post just reminded me to go check the two I have had out since the spring!

Cheers

That's quite a challenge. There are so many out there these days. If you just want to to know what is passing by your camera keep to the $100.00-150.00 cameras. If you want to make a National Geographic wildlife video complete with sound then go for the $$$ ones. Everyone has it's good points and bad points. Battery life, trigger speed, recovery speed, picture quality, etc. read as many reviews as you can. Mine work Ok but not perfect. On one I can't set the time and date anymore, Moultrie D55IR. The other one I can't get the automatic picture taking timer disabled. I want it to activate when something walks in front of it. I don't need a photo every 10 minutes. Still trying to figure that one out , a Bushnell. Good luck on whatever one you choose.

I stick to the spypoint ir 5's that come on sale once or twice a year for $99 at TSC. Take good day pics and battery life is excellent. Night pics can be blurry if game is moving much. Not spending extra $$ for bells and whistles like viewscreen. Get in get out quick as you can. I find the more expensive cameras don't last any longer than the cheap ones, if you get 3 years out of them I'd be happy. Would like to try the black flash once the price of them comes down though.
