I've got a box of cil standard velocity "super clean" greased ammo, it also says it was made in Montreal if that helps. I have no idea how old it is, but it has to be more than 40 years old. Do you think they are still ok? I could always just go shoot them I guess, but I am more interested in how long rim fire ammo lasts, and if who manufactured it matters.

I have a steady source of 50 to 75 year old ammo. Lots of Imperial , Canuck, Dominion, C.I.L....I shoot all the part boxes...all good.

Just be careful if you're shooting REALLY old ammo that if it's BLACK POWDER you'll have to clean your gun after. I've fired 100 year old ammo. It worked fine. The smoke was a dead give away as to the powder type...
