Ive been having troubles sighting in a rifle that has an old 4x32 redfield scope on it, and left scratching my head if the scope or the rifle or ammo, or my bad eyes are the problem.. everything seems to be real tight on both.. but the click rotation doesn't seem to make much sense. I click 4 clicks right one time, and the POI moves about 1" then... I move 1 click back and its a good 6 inches the opposite direction.

Doesn't look like it was the ammo though I'm not expert so maybe, but this is why I think not, I got a hold of another Redfield 2-7x widefield scope, and sighted it in. Shooting around 1.5-2" groups as long as the barrel is not too warm. If I fire off 20 rounds + the groups start to spread a lot more. But are still logical. My thoughts are partly knowing the rifle is inaccurate when the barrel gets hot.. and partly the 4x redfield? Any others thoughts whether or not I would be likely correct in thinking this?

had the exact same issues with an older redfield 4x widefield....sent it away to trace scope repair but haven't tested it out since i got it back....hopefully it's back up to par...
