Hello, folks. I have an old Acro I CO2 air pistol that my dad taught me to shoot with 35 years ago. It no longer holds a seal at the needle so I took it apart and scraped out the dried leather and replaced it. So far I have tried a variety of plastic and rubber seals but to no avail. I am going to cut a new piece of leather for it but I am doubtful that it will work. Any ideas from people who are more familiar with these old little guns?
Cheers.

The seal that seals the CO2 cartridge neck at the piercing pin?

Mine was a never ending PITA when I was trying to get it to shoot. Best result came from moving really fast and getting the screw torqued down solid as quickly as possible.

I never did find a reasonable solution, though I was looking at the urethane seals used on some Daisy air pistols and thinking that they might be worth a try. Pretty much need it to have already started sealing up before the piercing pin does it's work as the cart is seated into place. Never bothered though. Now it just sits.

I got this info from another CGN'r It may work for both of us.
"Best material for it is a product called delrin but you have to have access to a lathe for cutting. It comes in rods or sheets. You can cut or punch.I think it goes by the term DU90,that works best."
If I get mine shooting I will pass on the info to you.

Yeah. Delrin can be made to work. Sort of. It does not handle the repeated compression-release cycle anywhere near as well as the high durometer Urethane though.

Take a good look at skateboard or rollerblade wheels for Urethane.
