Old ammo

Another newb question, after 25 years or so, is .22LR still usable? I have some that old and most of them "look" like new, but a few have a little corrosion on the casings. Are they safe to use?

ive fired ~40year old .22's i got from my grandfather, few misfires but other than that no problem threw my bolt .22 rifle, however with my semi auto .22 it had troubles cycling the gun and i had a few that actualy broke the rim off when it tried ejecting the shell. in general, safe to shoot, just not all of them may fire and it is posible you might get a squib load with it being older powder. and if it will cycle in the chamber it should be ok, aslong as the corosion isnt to bad where it could cause the brass to crack.

Many thanks for the reply. I have a bolt action, and will not use the corrosive looking ones.
