Does anyone know of a smith in Edmonton knowledgable about Browning 12ga pumps?
I have a chance at picking up one that a guy inherited from his dad. He says the last time it was fired was in '67 by himself. The son figures it was bought in the States about 65 years ago. It has the original leather case as well.
Haven't seen it yet and hopefully it isn't a lump of rust.

Ha! It's probably so clean and minty it'll look like it's never been used. I know you're setting your expectations low so you don't get disappointed, but you're going down a road that leads to great deals.:D

You could take it to David Henry in Bentley - he knows his stuff. If it looks like it's hardly seen any service, and there's no rust or pitting inside or outside the barrels, don't bother - it'll be safer than a new one! While rust can seriously degrade a gun, age alone doesn't.
