Dear fellow nutzers,

After 52 years in the family the old bsa, 270 caliber Monarch, is traded in.
My father bought it from the money his friends made at his stag party in 1958. It was pruchased out of a catalogue and used on his trapline where he hunted moose, wolf, fox etc. It was literally a family feeder in terms of cash from furs and meat from game.
After he passed away in 1968 the gun went through the hands of 3 other family members before I got it in 1988 in poor shape. Last month, on a hunting trip with my brother, I mentioned that the local Sako dealer would take it on a trade for another 270. M y brother said that he would like to see a new gun in the family and that it was all right with him. My supportive wife came along with me to the dealer. After looking at a few guns the dealer said that he was inventoring his guns and had a new in the box Sako 75 hunter 270 caliber available, plus he threw in a sling and free labour to mount Talley rings and mounts. A new scope will come latter as this deal will burn off 3 christmas and 3 birthday presents.
