so I had some of my less used rifles out on the range last week to confirm zero.

while cleaning them the other day I was looking at what scope they had on them and was surprised that they both had Bushnell Banners, I would never buy a Banner today but looking at the scopes and the glass is actually very good. So taking a better look I noticed both were marked made in Korea. Well that would explain the quality, not made in China.

The Banners from just a few years ago were also made in Korea. I have two 1.5-4x Banners, dedicated for rifled slug barrels that we only use occasionally. 4" of eye relief and good enough glass.

Have an old bushnell banner 3 x 9 x 40 mm on my S&W 1500 in 270 Win that I inherited from my FIL when he passed away 20 years ago, the scope is probably 30 years old, it's been a great scope and I doubt I will change it out, that rifle is destined to be passed down to my nephew some day to stay in the family.

Oh yes!
I've had three bushell banner 6-18x50
Two made in Korea, one in China. The banner 2 is made in China. Difference like day and night! The Korean one I dropped my rifle on and it broke.

The older ones from the 80s are made in Japan. Their elite series is still Japanese afaik.

I have an old bushel banner and rifle I inherited off my father. Great optic. It sat so long in his gun rack when I got it, and had a look through it, one of the crosshairs was broken. I had Phil from Trace Scope repair over haul it and put in a new reticle.

I was told one time the old Japanese Bushell Banner BDC scopes had Bausch and Lomb lenses. Not sure it’s that is true or not but it had so much nostalgia to me I could not just replace it with another Leupold. I simply dusted off to many coyotes in the last 20 years with it to let it go.

Originally Bushnell offered 3 lines of scopes... Back in the late 60"s - The Sportview (0ne year warranty), The Banner (Five year warranty) and the Scopechief (Twenty year warranty) All of them were brighter than a 4X Leupold. Later in life Bushnell changed the warranty on all three models to a lifetime warranty... and Sportviews were often sent in, the odd Banner, and very few Scopechiefs required warranty.
