Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good resources, online or printed, to find values on old ammo. Cil, Imperial, Dominion as well as Remington and Winchester. I can find some Rem and Win online on some U.S. collector sites but I am really struggling with the Canadian made stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I understand that the .22 rimfire are more collectable, here are a couple of CIL examples -

Thanks for your help,

True "collector" ammo is notoriously difficult to rice and evaluate, and there are really no reliable book or on-line price guides. Gun guys will always tell you that any old ammo is rare/valuable/collectible, when in-fact it is none of those.
Your best bet is to post some pics of the ammo and boxes so the community can discuss it, and to check on-line sale and auction sites. For websites, make sure you are looking at what the items actually sell for and not what the sellers are asking. There is usually a BIG difference.

The condition of the box is the single most important factor. Many collectors only want the box - for them it's not the ammo that interests them.

I'll agree on condition, but I think you'll find that most ammo collectors would want at least a few rounds in the box to document the contents.

Not on vintage shotgun ammo. It is all about the box and the box only.
99% of canadian made shotgun ammo is not worth anything as a collectable. I did real well selling off my old stuff especially the two piece boxes some which went for over 200 a piece but no one wanted the shells so I kept them and shot most.
I think the high cost of shipping the ammo plus the fact most of my stuff went state side was a big reason also why just the box was sent
I didnot collect Rife ammo but know that is a different story.

The BB Cap box is WW2 or possibly earlier.

The Super-clean .22 Short box is late 1950s, early 1960s. It was great ammunition, too. Thirty-five cents a box.
