Old components

joe m said --- Still have 2 lbs H335 but can't find any numbers for it, yet. When I do I'll be using it.

What do you mean? There is all kinds of loading info on the popular powder,
H335, if that is what you meant.

How does one dispose of old primers and powder?
Thanks.

You can sprinkle the powder on a lawn. Doesn't hurt anything and breaks down naturally when exposed to the elements. It actually makes great fertilizer. But giving it away to someone who can use it is a better idea.

Love it when someone like H4831 comes up with a bit of history on powders to bullet tips to rounds. I have some 62 yrs of continual m/c riding experience under my belt (that includes comp riding in most form from '47 till '89) so I am the oldest on many of the m/c boards in the USA. I have been riding longer then some of the present riders were jewel in their Father's eye a few ys back.

Still I'm h/gun director at our Club & some chaps, that use to shoot or were older members (still at 77 yrs of age I to am a bit old) will hand me some containers of powder to factory or hand loads. I thank them & knowing said powder has possibly been hanging around their home or in the garage for umpteen yrs of heat & freezing temps. So open up the container & the SMELL is there so it is dumped in my yard, If the brass is rifle brass I offer it to fellow members, but if h/gun loads then I remove the bullet tips that go in for the next melt down & will decape said brass, size it & use it.
