picked one up off EE for 60 shipped.it rusty but i think im going to restore it and use it as my farm/hunting gun(i live on a large horse farm and we have some critters come around here and there) and i love to squirrel hunt.does anybody use these for squirrel(i know there very capable im just see if anybody uses them anymore for hunting, instead of the typical target use)id love to hear your story

they work just fine . you will enjoy it and so will many generations of people after you . old world craftmanship . not like some of the quick junk made today . if you want you could reblue it or just use some very fine steel wool and oil and clean the rust off and then shoot it . have fun .

I picked one up locally for 65$, it has a nice "rabbit in the bush" carving on both side of the grip. I could not beleive how accurate it was. Lots of fun with CCI's .22 short, first time shooting subsonic ammo and I loved it. My dad had a ball with it also. I'm planning on redoing the wood and probably polishing up the bolt.

Just finishing up a restore of an old single shot cooey - can't wait to get it outside. Restored the stock, stripped the barrel of the old blueing and reblued it last night. Came out amazing and it was simple to do - give it a little elbow grease you won't regret it!

Sure can when I get home. Haven't seated the barrel back in the stock yet i'm going to give it a few more days of tung oil (24 hr dry between coats). But I can throw up a pic of the stock and barrel. Bolt is on it's way home, i'm going to polish it with mothers polish and a drill/dremel to make it all shiney and new looking. What I don't know is if the bolt in the single has an extractor or not!

Hey Tactical show some pic's I am about to do up a model 60 the same way.

Had one for a while, I mostly used it for hunting prairie chickens and a little target shooting, I bought a BSA Martini and then it mostly sat in the safe after that. Mine was decently accurate, especially for hunting, and nice and light.

just got it today, fired 50 rounds of win. 555 bulk and it groups 1/2 groups at 50 yards......new squirrel gun indeed,i might just leave it rusty and trusty

If it works don't fix it.
My old model 39 will put a lot of more expensive guns to shame. The weekest point is between the sight and the trigger; ME. With a good shooter they are great.
