Can anyone definitively answer if new mags for a push button P220 will fit in an old German Sig P220 with the euro heel mag release?

I've searched online and found confusing answers.

Lots say no,
Some say the new ones fit in the old but not old in new.

I've even read where a 1911 mag will work. Kinda doubt it.

Anybody know for sure?

Anybody know where a guy could order a few mags for the euro heel if normal push button mags don't work?

Thanks

My old P220 with heel mag release is a 9mm, so that may make a difference too, but.....the mags are NOT interchangeable with the new P220 'merican style thumb release mags. I just tried out of curiosity, and I know that the old 9mm mags I have are very hard to find.

Depends on the baseplate I believe.

One like this should work. This is an older style designed for the thumb release, but has a straight metal basepad which should work with the euro style catch.

One like this, the new style with the polymer basepad, will not work.

I tried Midway but the mags are no longer available.

Numrich has some USA brand but I was informed by someone knowledgable those are no good.

As long as it's s 7rnd flat steel base, it will work.
But.... Not very popular.
