i was gifted this nice old piece, in very good condition. A solid farmers gun in 20 gauge. It's a 1952 issue made under license at the Long Branch, Ontario plant. What I am wondering, since all the stampings say are 20 gauge/choke, is if it will take 2 3/4 without opening into the forcing cone. It came with a box of seriously old 2 1/2 with rifled slugs and i dont know if that was the standard back in the day. Common old gun so I thougt someone may know. I can take it to a smith of course.

Got a nice 1948 Stevens 58 too, in 410, but thankfully it says 2 1/2 & 3.

Thanks,

Beezer

it should have a 2 3/4" chamber I don't know of any guns made here with 2 1/2" chambers that late

Thanks. That's what i was hoping. I'm told some 16 gauge were short (2 9/16 maybe) but 20 and 12 seem to have standardized by then. Appreciate your reply.

** checked mine, its about a 1954 model, Made in Canada. Nothing on the size, Just Proof Tested 20 GA Choked on the Barrel. I did some measurements its about 2.5" from barrel to the cone.
