Once again I call on the expertise at CGN to help me find some info :)

I was helping clear out a woman's house, and one item amongst her long deceased husbands (Once a Captain in the CF) memorabilia was a Luger Holster. I told her it may very well be worth some money, so to hang on to it.

Here's what I can tell you:

Black leather, has a tool pouch and tool inside the flap. Has a magazine poucch on one side, and what looks to be a leather "thong" that runs inside the holster to ease removal of the pistol. It is marked very clearly on the inside of the top cover:

I.W.Rosenbaum
Bnesleau
1916

Beside that there is another marking, not engraved but in black that *appears* to say B.A.V 1916 (hard to make out the letters)

On the OUTSIDE of the holster, along the top edge of the main body where the cover would overlay it, it is stamped 11.JR.8.24.

The holster is in decent shape, but is a: dirty, and B: Missing one of the two belt loops on the back.

Any info?

Thanks!

Clean it up and put it on ebay. Missing a belt loop is bad, but you may still fetch up to $200us for it, but hard to say without it being complete. Its not a big ticket item, gun nutz you may get $75 to $100 cdn for it.

There is a guy on the Luger forum who repairs Luger holsters, I have heard he does amazing work. PM if you want his contact info.

Missing a belt loop isn't a good thing, that greatly reduces the value... but sometimes people still pay a good buck for them on eBay.
