Just recently got a beaten Mannlicher m95m with no ammo, no clip and still couldn't figure out what I really got. Can anybody help? I'm not even sure if it is 8x56r or the older 8x50r? Very few markings. On the receiver says Budapest m95m, "R" under bolt which indicates Hungarian manufacturing. On other parts "K" which indicates Austrian manufacturing. Also I may see Bulgarian ( Cyrillic) marks on the front sight and under the rear sight. Didn't find manufacturing date which suppose to be on the barrel? as a 2 digit number and a crest. One Austrian eagle on the right side of the barrell. Some more crown here and there with a "T"?.
Any idea?

will ad some photos as soon as I figure out how to do it
but looks like I'm not allowed yet

Go to milsurps.com and look under the knowledge library for Yugoslavia. There is an article there in the m95m with pics, etc that should help. It's free.

Lots of good info on the Military Knowledge Library. M95M will be 8x57JS or 8mm Mauser. Neat rifles, especially if you have one in military dress. Most we see here in Kanada are "sporters". Still a nifty little rifle.

One thing to look for is to make sure it has the proper 'clip' inside the magazine well. Without that clip you cannot feed or use the magazine. I am not talking about the M90 Mannlicher clips but the ones made specifically for this conversion which were meant to be permanently part of the magazine (and only could be removed in disassembly, which some idiots over the years have done and lost).
