old marlin semi auto

my dad has an old marlin semi auto. model number to follow.the cocking handle broke, it is one of those stamped, slide on ones. local gunstore near my dads place in Sask told him it was antique? but never got back to him. we know its not antique. any help?

Going to need a model number, or at least some pictures...

Marlin has been whipping up fantastic .22's for a very long time. Some of their parts can be found easily, some are a challenge. With so many models made, it's hard to offer help not knowing what yours is.

i guess so. my dad asked me to see what i could find out, but mom wasn`t home to read the model number. he has trouble with the fine print, he`s 74 but can still hit a beer can at 50 yds with that .22 but can't read the fine print. i`ll try again next time i talk to him.
he uses a flat head screwdriver to #### it,
didn't know they made so many different models

just googled it, cocking handle same as on model 98

Their most recent, an popular models all seem to accept the same charging handle. (60,70, 795, 7000, 99...not including the glenfield variations), it's the older gems that may prove tricky. (50 etc...)

Even a picture would go a long way toward helping.

tried to copy the pic i found, site wouldn't let me, but thats the 22. put thousands of LR thru that growing up. both my boys and both girls have fired it too.
