Anyone collect these? I just got screwed on one from a gunshop, an old Mod46 with S130 rear sight. It was in the access, I got pics and everything but didn't notice in the pics that every single one the guy took has the rear side if the rear sight showing......no aperture attached to it and he failed to mention this in our email conversations. It's in quite nice shape, bore is great too, but unless it's original it's kind of useless to me. Not to mention how useless it is with no rear aperture.......
Sample of his pics....notice the rear sight has been switched around when taking the other side.

Anyone know where I can find an original aperture? I know I can always jimmy something up like a williams or lyman aperture, but not the route I want to go. I may return it and eat the shipping i'm so pissed off.

Hey brother, Havlin Sales in the US has all Mossberg parts etc. Very well priced and shipped to Canada no problem. Talk to Cheryl there she is the best. I can't hot link but a google look will turn it up.

cheers Darryl

Hitzy, try at Numrich also... they have parts from time to time.

Also, I inherited a really nice 146b from my father in law a while back, but it was missing one of the sling swivels...

I put out a plea on the parts and bits forum, and got two excellent ones for free from the guys out there... Don't underestimate the support from our fellows in gunnutz land! :D ;)

Then, Shane at Reliable Gun fixed the magazine tube for free for me as well! :D

I don't think you got screwed. That looks like an awfully nice rifle you picked up. Nice wood, unusual configuration. Finding the peep shouldn't be too bad, they are out there.

Mossberg owners are a fiercely loyal bunch, and rightfully proud of their rifles. I'm sure you'll find it to be an accurate rifle.

The folks on here truly are wonderful people. A member read my post and sent me a PM that he had a complete S100 mossberg rear sight I could have for a very reasonable price. He was local too so I went and picked it up today, had some coffee and shot the #### for about an hour.
Got the sight all cleaned up and installed, and the old mossy is staying put.......no need to send her back now.:)

My first rifle was my dad's old 146b(a). Thanks to this thread, i've found a source for the firing pin I've needed to replace.

Thanks guys!

That's awesome!
We have a good bunch of coconuts on here. :D

That's the one thing I wish they would bring back for the new rifles...peep/aperture sights.

BTW your rifle was made from 1935, and 1937. :)
Your going to love shooting this rifle. :)

I'm sure it would be too expensive to manufacture anything like the old mossberg microclicks.....Lymans and Willaims are OK but fall a bit short.
Here is the S100......just heard back from Havlin and they have some of the parts to put the S130 back together:)
