while googling for sks info, came across a story on the cbc archive from 2002 about 3000 russian sks' bound for vancouver being seized in italy.

http://www. cbc.ca/world/story/2002/12/14/assault_rifles021214.html

anybody remember this? what was the outcome? were they really russian or where they yugo? in the story the ship is croatian, or where the rifles, dare to dream, karabiner S?

of course the cbc calls them "assualt rifles".

I'm guessing the paperwork was not in order. If full declaration is made then there is no problem bringing these rifles in...mind you picking a transport that will stop in the USA wasn't smart, as they don't like stuff from the former Yugos showing up, and put it under more of a magnifying glass.

Also Halifax would have been a better destination (with the paper work done).

Sounds like all involved (the buyer and the broker) where dumb asses, and tried to get away with stuff for no reason, cut corners, and got caught.

BTW: You are allowed the full link as long as it is not selling something in conflict with one of the paid dealers on this site. :)
