I need help placing a value on an older Perazzi TM1 trap gun. I think that this gun was made in the early 1970s. The reason I say this, is that I was the second owner and the first owner had it less than a year. I know all the owners except one who had it a short while before the last owner.
On the left it is marked:
ITHACA GUN COMPANY – ITHACA – NEW YORK
12 GA 2 ¾ - MADE IN ITALY
On the right it is marked:
CUSTOM CRAFTED BY MANIFATTURA ARMI PERAZZI
The serial number is less than #750
The gun shows a lot of handling wear on the blue as well as the wood, but locks up tight. The gun hammers targets like old Perazzi guns usually do.
The butt stock is not the same as when I owned it. It is 13 ½ inches and has an ugly Sorbocoil Pad. Wood has been removed from the left side of the comb. It has a mercury reducer installed. The fore stock which is massive has been hollowed a bit on the inside where one of the previous owners may have weighted it with lead shot.

I am not much of a photographer and photobucket guy so I hope those worked?

How much is it worth to sell? And how much would it cost to refinish and put on new or better wood? Other than the guys in California, who would do this type of work? Thanks!

I would say between $ 1,500 & $1,800. Tm-1's were not known for great wood. That said they were probably the best single barrel Trap gun ever made.

I'd be less generous. $1,000 to $1,200. That gun has been shot a lot. Although the top lever is right of centre am I seeing a gap between the breech face and the barrel or is that just the photo? Also does the forend have a crack that has been repaired?

Restocking a TM1 is possible. Used stock sets are not hard to find at the large shoots like the Grand. I know with the o/u there have been changes in the forend iron over the years but can't say about the single barrels.

A good reblueing job would probably be a three to four hundred backs and add $800 to $1,000 for a decent stock and forend.

I wouldn't worry about cosmetics that much. TM1's are infinately rebuildable. If someone could get that gun for $800-$1,000 they should jump on it. I have seen BT99's with a lot more mileage on them go for more than that. The TM1 is a much better gun.

Win/64, I think you are a little generous. For $1500.00 me and TM1 would part company.:D CB, I think that is my poor photography that looks like a gap. There is no repaired crack in the fore stock, however someone routered out a space in the front to add shot for weight.:(
Hope these pics are better, but is the best I can do with my cheap canon and zero photo skill. Thanks for your opinions.
