I bought a quantity of powder from Higginsons a few years back. It was marketed as H4350 OEM [Thomas said it was actually Vihtavuori N160]. It worked so well in several rifles that I laid in about 28 lbs of it. I made it through about 12 lbs before it started going bad. Turned yellowish, developed acidic moisture in it, and corroded everything near it. I burned off the rest in my firepit outside, even though 1 - 7# bag had no signs yet. just didn't want to take a chance on it doing something crazy as it deteriorated. I want to make it clear that I am not in any way suggesting that this was Higginson's fault. They would have had no way of knowing that this stuff would go bad. Even in my case, it took about 4-5 years for the effects to show up. Since the price was quite attractive, I was not out that much anyway. Regards, Eagleye.
