I came into some old bases and rings . Buehler micro-dial bases for a Rem 700 1" solid rings that I have figured out but there is a one piece Redfield marked 600 MAG that has 3 holes with the rear ring screws located half way down the base ? As well it appears to have an iron rear sight at the back of the base. Is this a scout type mt for the Rem 600 ?

Redfield made many pop up peep type scope bases for many years, I have a few of them. . It was a back up iron sight (remember scopes weren't considered all that reliable at the time). 600 on the base means that yes, it is for a 600, likely the 6.5/350 magnum models. - dan

Cant find it now but I had (have?) a one piece Redfield base intended for a Remington 600 —- and I have a dim memory of it having a ‘notch’ at the front to accommodate the recoil lug that is not ‘dressed off’ on top and extends above the height of the receiver on a 600

Yes, that is another way to identify them. - dan
