Hey guys~WTB ads turn-up nothing for old/obsolete guns like these it seems. Does anyone here know of a source for old Remington shotgun parts here in Canada? I have a 12ga. with a stock my grandfather cut down to match his shorter stature. I made a stock spacer for it years ago but now have a desire to see this old girl back to original form.

On a much less important note, I have a spare, fixed FC barrel for it (with friction ring from WGP) I may want to sell, or trade for the buttstock...so it would be great to know who in Canada might be the right person to contact.

Thanks!

OK...so the search continues! I'm not really a "gun show" guy, mostly because there aren't any big ones within an hour's drive (Orangeville about 45 minutes...but it's a small/limited show). I've checked a few well-known places in the US, and even places that list 11-48 stocks usually don't have them. I would be prepared to have PR import one for me if req..and if I could find a nice specimen. I know the odd (complete gun) 12ga pops-up in the EE under $250, so that might be the best I can do on this side of the border, but am I missing any sources here for old Remington parts? WGP doesn't have.

Thanks for any/all help. Trying to get my grandfather's old 12 back to her original glory.

You best bet would be to pick up a used one.

May come to that...but it would be a shame to harvest a stock of an otherwise functional gun. A "parts" gun with problems~sure. At the end of the day...if I can get this sorted out for $200 or less, I feel it'll very much be worth the trouble.

Someone messaged me asking if an 1100 stock would be a drop-in option. I honestly don't know...but if that were the case, I think my time on Google would have revealed a couple of success stories. Maybe? 3macs1...any thoughts? :)

Years ago I did fit a 1100 28ga stock on a 28ga 1148 and it was not a direct replacement but if I remember it was just drilling the hole for the recoil spring tube nut deeper. Like 4" or more not really a big deal
Mind you that was a small receiver. I never tried a 12ga 1148 but if you can get the 1100 stock cheap and it is off a large frame maybe worth a try
Cheers

There you go from the write up

A later model 1100 buttstock CAN BE MADE to fit.

So if like the one I did for the 28ga not a big deal just a bit of drilling
Thanks

Happy New year by the way. Is that x1 collection still growing :)

Slowly good Sir! Being a little more selective now. Found another SX1 Deer to add to the collection!
