Hi.. Was at the Thunder Bay Gun Show yesterday , found a small treasure - provided you like Savage 1899/99 rifles.. Metal plate with the Savage Logo stamped on it.. Dates to 1919 by the serial number stamped on the back which would be a .303 Savage probably.. Since it's mostly flat with a slight curve to it , I'm thinking it must have come off a Carbine?.. Anyways if was an interesting find and would be a nice replacement if I ever came across a Carbine that needs a bit of restoring.

Thanks fpr looking

Same plate that is on my 1919 take down in 30-30. It is a carbine.
And LOL i usually get the reloading dies before I find the rifle. Damn gun shows.
Okay thanks for your comment.. So it is a Carbine buttplate.. There was a Take-down .300 Savage at the show I saw , but in tough shape.. But for $400 (or less) it might have been a gun gun to play with.
