Recently my brother inlaw got his PAL and mentioned he wanted a .22 for plinking on the farm. Money is tight right now but I started looking and found a little Sears 4C .22lr on a facebook page. For $120 it came with a new stainless Savage mag, a Bushnell 3-9X32 scope and a couple hundred rounds of ammo. The barrel and receiver had alot of rust but the bore and inside the action were immaculate and the stock was in great shape. The pitting was too deep for rebluing so I went a little bubba. After hand sanding the barreled action from 80 to 220 grit, I hung it up and degreased it. A couple coats of primer and gloss black engine enamel went on then it was hung over a heater overnight. I got it out to sight in today and everything went well. No malfunctions and the rifle looks great.

Your restoration job is really nice.
I do the same thing with old rusted toys.
Sometimes I also redo the stock with black glossy paint.
It looks so nice that people think that the stock is synthetic.
I can then use it as a truck gun, without worries of scratching it.
