Just wanted to know (don't want to mess anything) how to remove the pins holding the trigger assembly on this old shotgun.

I think I need to remove the rear spring first and then punch the pins out.
Doing this for my dad, it's his old shotgun, but there's almost no bluing left. (It's rusting real easy now in wet weather)

Planning a complete repark later this week.

Thanks !

It's a Remington 812 (CIL 151).

Been a while since I disassembled one of those.
#### the hammer. Can you see a little hole through the mainspring guide, right where that groove is around the rear post? If there is a hole, put a pin through it to capture the mainspring, then ease the hammer forward. The spring assembly can then be easily removed.
But I may be wrong.

Make sure the missus and the yun'ungs ain't home when you pull that spring out.
Sum cuss'n may slip t'ween yer lips.
And progressively git louder awn re-assembly.

If there isn't a way to capture that spring, putting it back together is going to be more fun - and a lot slower - than taking it out.

Got everything out. There was way less tension then I expected on that spring.

Should be able to repark and fit new buttplate tomorrow.

Surprisingly, the pins in the receiver were quite easy to remove.
Mostly redone the wood tonight.

Was made exactly like that ! Needed to push the spring with some sort of C-Clap rigged on the bench vice. Once the little hole was visible I've used a small drill bit to hold the spring compressed.

Megaclocker.....
Please keep up the post. I just refinished the wood on an old CIL for a friend and it turned out pretty nice. I'm curious how the iron's gonna turn out for you.

Finish is not perfect... But that'll do.

Some work left on the wood. I also have to fix the two buttpad screw holes (stripped).
Parkerizing tank is in the mail should be able to do the barrel next week. New buttpad has been fitted tonight.

More to come.

Looks good now don't toss out the old solution till you do the barrel so they match shades of Parkerizing. Barrel may turn out a slightly different color or shade of grey/ black as the metal of the barrel isn't the same as the action. It will look good regardless as compared to "GAG" rust !!
Good job for the first attempt.

Already done 2 Garand. Not exactly a first.

Barrel will be done with a fresh solution. Receiver was done in a 4L pot over a fifth burner. (Park solution is Radocy)

CANPAR hurry up I need my tank !!!

Unless I'm mistaken, all the CIL model 151s were made in Brazil. When I was a kid KMART in the USA sold them by the tons. My stepdad had one in 12ga. They are very tough good shooting guns. I like the finish you put on that action, it looks good on that gun.
