Hello

I have just come across an older swarovski habicht nova 30mm tube scope. It is 2.2-9 x 42mm and has a heavy outer reticle with fine crosshairs in the middle.

I mounted the scope and then went about trying to bore site it but can't figure out whether it is broken or if I am doing something wrong. The adjustment dials (wind-age/elevation) seem to click but I can't seem to get any movement.

There are some small screws on the adjustment dials so I am wondering if there is a way of locking the reticle that I am not understanding here.

Hopefully someone here is familiar with these scopes and can tell me whether it is broken or if I am just clued out (hoping for the latter)

Thanks in advance

There may be a "zero point adjustment" capability that is not secured ... apparently more recent Swarovski's use a pull up outer ring on the adjustment wheels to reset zero after you sighted in ...once the scales were adjusted ... you pushed the outer ring down to reengage the adjustment mechanism... it is possible that the screws accomplish the same thing and, if loose .. would cause you to lose the ability to adjust the reticle (just the outer ring/turret scale) - but that's my GUESS and I would be cautious about any action with those screws till you confirm.
I am trying to recall if my Swaro "AL" 4x has the screws you mention -- its not easy to get to but I think not as the AL series were not as high end as the Habicht Nova you have
