I have an old Tasco 3x9x40 it's an 1980ish scope I think?. It has an antelope insignia on the one side where the the crosshair adjustment is. Where would I find out about it?. Is it any good?. It's currently on a 300wm. Thanx in advance

Bugletoo!
I also have exactly the same on. It's on a Carl Gustaf [Husqvarna] 6.5 Swede L.H. I've had no trouble with mine at all and shot three moose with this combo over the years. Got the rifle in '75 [apparently lefties very rare in Ca.] . Put the scope on it later...during the 80's when I bought it at CTC for cheap. It takes the recoil from the Swede in stride but I don't know how much life you'll get out of it with .300wm. On the other hand ... if you've been shooting that combo since the 80's then that's pretty impressive! As for finding out about it,try googling Tasco on the net -you're sure to get a response that way. I don't know if Tasco's been absorbed by another company now or not.

I have 3 of them now.
Mine are the TR (Tragectory Rangefinder)3-9x40WA, they all have the range finder, bullet drop comp. & were made in Japan.
My first one I bought in '84 & it has always been on my .300WM which has seen over 1500 rnds of hand loads.
It has been very well abused & still holds zero. I have crashed my ATV 3 times with it on & once lost it off the seat of my jeep at 30 MPH. It is dented & scared but I have never had to re-zero it.
My son has one on his .300WSM & my other one is on a .308.

In the late '90s I bought a bunch of these TR scopes (made in China) & none lasted a season on a .308 or .300WM.
I sent the 4 of them back to Tasco (they were redirected to Bushnell as they bought them out). They replaced them with a newer model of Tasco without the TR option.
At that same time, my 2 buddies bought Bushnell 3x9's & put them on their .308s. After 3 shots the cross hairs broke on both of them.

I have one too! Nice, bright and clear. My only complaint is a relatively short eye relief and a critical eye relief at that. Doesn't take much to see black instead of a sight picture.:(

Thanks I agree woodsman I am finding the eye relief a bit short for my 300 but over all seems to be holding up. I sightied the rifle in and shot some groups with it the other day and found the gun scope combo to be very accurate.1.5 to 1 inch three shot groups. pretty good for a first timer behind a Big bore.
