If my memory serves me correctly,it seems to me there was a single shot TC rifle before the current model.I don't think it came with the multiple barrel option, it was just one.Anybody know what I am talking about-and if so-what was it called, and what was the experiance of anyone shooting one?

Yes you are right.I believe it wasTCR rifle you are talking about. One model I believe was called the Aristocrat .It was similar to a break open shotgun in action and it came with double set triggers and it did have a mutli barrel option and als a 12ga barrel for it.They are good rifles and you see them for sale now and then

I had one of the TCR 83 Aristocrat's, came in the original box. Fit and finish on this was outstanding. The safety had to be manipulated with two hands (at least for me). It was almost like a safety "safety".
Used barrels for these rifles are commanding upwards of $500 U.S in some of the rarer chamberings.
Thomson Center also made a TCR 87 model, with only one trigger, not as nice wood.

I seem to remember it as a very finely made rifle, but seemed to be ahead of it's time-fine single shot rifles didn't seem to have the following they have today
