1860 Pattern Sword Bayonet for a Martini-Henry. Having the scabbard and in that condition is kind of rare these days. It can run around $150. Now you need to go find a Martini-Henry in decent condition.

It's not mint nor even close, but it is in excellent condition. Mint means exactly the way it came out of the factory.

Looks like the P1860 bt for the Short Enfield or Short Snider. The MH conversion of this pattern top rear of the pommel was ground. What is the inside diameter of the muzzle ring?

Mauser Mike beat me to it, VR = Victoria Regina = Queen Victoria.

I put her cap badge on my head every day. If you have ever heard of The Royal Canadian Regiment, she granted up permission to use her cypher (the added I = Imperatrix = Empress (of India). On other regiments you'll see ER II (Queen Elizabeth II) and theirs change with whoever sits on the throne, but ours will never change.

Here is a self-sketch of hers at 18yo ...certainly among the most flattering likenesses.

Neat. Best I can see due to the absence of German and American markings, this would have been issued to a sergeant in the Canadian Militia. However, they were apparently also issued to American troops for the Pig War on the west coast out here -- but like I said, no German/American markings (and I think the American ones were made in Germany, stamped in England, and sold to both sides in the U.S.A.)
