Is it better to use an older or newer vblock for a 1022 build? The old one I have looks to be beefier than the new one. I assume the new one is mim. Any input? The newer vblock is on the right in the attached pics

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I'm pretty much a 1022 rookie.

It would appear that the newer one has radiused corners is MMT mfg. I don't think any difference would be noted using either.

If you encounter barrel droop using a heavy barrel, both Kidd & Dlask offer a V block with a set screw that helps resolve the droop issue.

Good advice

I believe Ruger has different profile barrels available for the sr22. Mine is definitely an sr take off.

The barrel pictured looks like a .920” barrel.

I don’t think the V Block will make much of a difference. Does the barrel fit tight into the receiver?

Yeah the barrel was a nice tight fit into the receiver. Had to tap the rear of the receiver a couple times with a rubber mallet to get it seated nicely. Got it lined up dead centre to the extractor with a little twist.

On the note of barrel installation, I decided to use the older V block. It seemed a little beefier and wasn’t Mim either.
