Old War cane?

Sorry, this is the only 'Forum' I saw to ask.{MILSURP?}
I've had this many years. I thought I researched years ago..maybe a cane for the 'Wounded' in WW2? {when supplies were tight, over seas¿} I can't find my magnifying glass lol but the pics do show some clear. Looks like on End Cap '44' ..& Made in USA -
Anyone know what/where, some more History or where this cane is from?
