I’m genuinely curious why you would think that needs replacing or even refinishing? Throw some BLO or Tung oil on it and call it a day.

All my guns look like they were just made, except this one.
It's the poorest finsih of the lot.

LOL...Ya from 1957 and my other is from 1948..
Kids today, nutty ideas they have about what's important

FatCat, it's a good excuse to watch a few basic refinishing videos and hand rub in a nice finish.... minimal supplies, minimal tools biggest investment will be the time and even that's not extreme.

Fair enough. The finish also looks a little worn (could be the photo) so replacing the wood would still leave it looking less than perfect, it may in fact make the worn finish stand out even more.
