Old Wingmaster New Barrels

I'm in the market for my first shotgun and I want an older wingmaster, but I want a barrel on it that accepts rem chokes so that I can use it for everything.



Which years do barrels with rem chokes fit on?

All 870 barrels (within gauge) will fit. BUT express barrels use a different mag cap retaining system. These will not work (stay tight) on a Wingmaster unless a rubber O ring is placed between the cap and barrel extension. Modern Wingmaster barrels will work on all Wingmasters regardless of age. There is one oddball, the Special Field, this gun has a shorter mag tube so the barrel ring is closer to the receiver and will not work on regular Wingmasters. Hope this helps.
