Hey guys,

I just purchased an older Anschutz single shot, and I can't figure out at all how to get the bolt out of the thing. It's got what appears to be a one piece extractor at the bottom of the bolt, somewhat akin to a single shot break action shotgun/rifle.

Pulling the trigger and trying to remove the bolt does not work, and there doesn't seem to be any sort of bolt release. Does anybody else have any suggestions as to how one would remove the bolt from this rifle? I do not know the model number, but I can supply pictures later if needed.

Thanks!

PS: On a side note, would brake cleaner or carb cleaner generally be considered better for soaking parts (Such as bolts) in to remove crud buildup? I know brake cleaner will not leave any residue, but is carb cleaner a better cleaner or less harmful to finish?

Not sure about the bolt, thought it was a double pull once to get it part way second pull all the way, I would soak it in Breakfree CLP not carb or break cleaner, Just me.

So, I removed the stock from the rifle last night and easily removed the bolt. It appears that the stock must be removed, then the trigger assembly folded completely to the rear, lowering the sear and disengaging the bolt.

Pics, in case someone else has a similar problem:
