I see on the EE lately there's been plenty of older anschutz 64 actions for sale such as the 180 and 190. These seem to be selling for somwhere around 350-500. Considering a new Anschutz 64 action is at least $1000 new, this seems like an excellent buy. Are these older 64 actions as good as the newer ones? Should the accuracy be comparable?

Hi there Super 7. I have both an Anschutz/CIL 310 and an Anschutz 1415-1416, and though both are 64 actions, there is a slight difference between the two. My computer will not allow me to download pics of both guns, so, maybe others would be able to show a picture of the back of their bolt on either model for comparison.

I can tell you though, my Annie/CIL 310 is very accurate. I have a target that I shot at 75 yards that can be easily covered with a dime (thought I would post a pic, but again, my computer will not allow it to be downloaded). Thats with CCI Blazer ammo ($2.99/box). Both my rifles love this stuff. Most of my shooting is informal shooting without aid of a bench, so, I know the rifle is much more accurate than me.

Comparing both, the Anshcutz 1415-1416 is a bit better of a rifle. Substantially better, I would say no. Better bluing, yes, nicer wood, not nicer than my 310. I would easily say that if my 310 had a Schnabel forearm, I would not have a problem selling my 1415-1416. The fact of the matter is, all my rifles have Schnabel forearms, so, this is my practice rifle.
