A while ago I bought an older Anschutz Match 54.
I need to know what is the model of the barreled action and trigger group.
My first guess would be a 1407 for the barreled action.
Trigger looks like a 1408d-U1 single stage, unless its a 1408d-U1 2 stage adjusted to feel like a single stage.

It sits in a aftermarket stock so it won't help ID the action.
Serial number is : 123### ( last 3 are digits too ).
The action is the older *flag safety* type and its not drilled and tap'd for scope bases.
The heavy barrel is around 25.75 @ 26 inches long.

It have a slight trigger problem so I need to know what is the trigger group model to fix it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Here is a pic of the trigger :

That looks like this trigger that is on my 1408 ED S. The barreled action can be identified by its barrel length, barrel diameter, and year of manufacture. If it's not the heavy, long barrel, and is the standard length of the xx07, its likely a 1407 as surmised. The bolt will have a wing safety and two extractor claws. There was an Anschutz for sale recently on the EE that had this trigger; it came with a custom BR stock.

The trigger is, as identified above, a No. 1408 D-U1, a "Three Pound Single Stage Trigger". Mine, shown in the photo below, was identified as such on RFC and it was suggested that the trigger blade was straightened (although I'm not sure about that).

The barrel is close to 26 inches long and the diameter is .860 inch straight shank ( last 2 inches at the muzzle is .885 ).

From what I can see ( and feel ) my trigger has been tuned with springs. The pull is definetly Under 3 pounds, I would say 1 pound.

I need to find a spare, the sear ( item 110 ), do you have any clue where I can find one ?
I know its not gonna be easy to find... At worse, I will modify/fix mine but I prefer to find a replacement.

My trigger also has a one pound pull. There is a "500 gram Single Stage Trigger" -- which is what I think we have. It appears it's either the No. 1408 D-U9 or the #1411-U2 as shown in the literature in the image below.

In the parts diagram on the Anschutz site, there is 2 springs #'s.
Diagram P/N 89 and 89a, Anschutz parts number 1404-36 and 1408-5 which is the 500grams snap spring.

I will not be surprised if my spring is aftermarket one. I said around a pound but that could be less, will have to check.

Any hint how to know the year of manufacture of the barreled action ?

The date of manufacture should be a two digit number stamped on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. On pre-78 rifles it will be numbers; those made after 1978 will have a two letter date code. 0=A, 1=B, 2=C, 3=D, 4=E, 5=F, 6=G, 7=H, 8=I/J, 9=K

Then its a 1974 !

Looking at the rear spring, it may have been shortened and stretched in an attempt to produce a lighter trigger pull.

Yup it looks like it.

Thanks Grauhanen !

Now I need to find a sear or repair mine or find a complete 2 stage trigger assembly.

Email sent to Nordic Marksman, lets see if the parts are still available.

I dissasembled the sear. I think its pretty obvious what the problem is ;)

I've never disassembled an Anschutz trigger group. I'd be afraid I would have parts left over after I reassembled it. I'm not the most mechanically minded.
I'm not sure what the bottom photo shows. Is the problem the spring or something else?

Don't worry it will work again haha !

The sear is bent and it will probably break if I try to fix it.

The trigger is now fixed, cleaned, greased and oiled and it works like a charm.
No leftover parts ;)
I found a replacement parts at Numrich but it was a little expensive.
I did the *file test* on the trigger and it was not tempered steel so I use a little heat to straighten up the trigger.

Believe it or not, I was sure it was a single stage trigger but it was a two-stage trigger adjusted to work as a single stage trigger.

I also got rid of the side-to-side play by adding some brass shims.
Its now almost as good as my Anschutz MSR trigger.
