Looking for some help I was digging through some junk today after a recent death in the family and found my old co2 bb pistol Im dating myself but it would be from the 70s.It is a Crossman model 454 I recall that the co2 which loads in the handle grip leaked big time, would it be worth fixing or can it be fixed? It was a top load and I remember it would shoot as fast as you could pull the trigger and hit hard for the first few shots

Thanks for any info or comments on the pistol.

I looked them up, sounds like it would have to be a labour of love. Parts aren't available from crosman although they have manuals on pdf free. A lot better low cost guns out there now a days.

Perhaps a new seal is all that is needed? If not an exact fit, perhaps something could be modified to fit. It would be a labor of love.

I had a few of the old crosman pistols that used co2, and they all wanted to leak at the "nipple" that pierced the co2 cartridge ... I eventually found an o-ring that seemed to stop it, but they didn't like the cold and would break down eventually, but it was a simple fix each time for peanuts.

The rest of the internals are fairly simple, and usually only a couple small fittings that can be resealed with some good plumbers putty on the threads.

Certainyl a DIY project, and not all of the guns are easy to disassemble and rebuild, but imho, they aren't worth enough to worry if you end up with a pile of parts.

They can be rebuilt, probably in the $50 dollar range so not too bad.I am in Saskatchewan also if you are interested.Glen

I've got a model 38T and the pressure cylinder gasket seal leaks and I've been doing some research and have been looking for parts. I've seen several website mention places to shop for parts. The crossman website also has schematics and manuals available for pretty much all their old and new models as well.

Check out the crossman forum for details. W W W.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php

The problem with these older guns is for the most part seals are no longer made. That means you have to know how to cut new ones or know someone that does.I am part of the canadian airgun forum and know there are a few people that fix them. Some in Ontario, some in BC,and some like me here in saskatchewan.Glen
