Older Leupold quality- Vari-X?

Hi guys,

I am looking at buying an older leupold 3x9x40 that a guy has locally. It just has Vari-X on it, not a Vari-X II, III or anything else. Does anyone know when they produced this scope and how is the quality of this model? They are asking a couple hundred, is that reasonable? Thanks a lot!!

'Course the quality of the older VariX 3-9x40's is about the same as the new VX-1's...

For $200 you could buy alot better scopes slightly used.

We get $200 min. for any used Leupold scope in half decent condition. Leupolds keep their value and have lifetime warranty. Phil.

The price we pay is dependent on if the scope is traded in or we purchase it outright. Also the age and general condition will determine what we will pay for it. We never have used Leupolds in stock for very long. Phil.
