Older model Vanguard bolt release spring source?

I have a 20 plus year old weatherby vanguard 3006 that has a worn out bolt release spring. I have tried to source a new one through my local gunsmith as well as through weatherby with no success. Apparently the newer vanguards are a completely different design. Anyone have an idea where else to try?
