thank you, but that one is the newer style forend, it has a bolt that holds it on. I need a older style, that has a cap end, like a shotgun forend

That is the only pic I have

thanks for your help..

I have the same rifle and stock, forestock split in the exact same place.
Got a Ram Line composite stock to replace original wood. The Ram Line actually took out a lot of the play in the fore end.

right on.. now waiting to hear back on availability at ellwood epps..

while I was waiting I decided to attempt a repair.. alot of wood was missing out of the crack

Not great, but not bad..At least its solid..

The 7600 stock can be put on the rifle you have with some minor work. You need to remove the plastic cap on the end and ease the edges. I redid this one and it turned out very nice IMO.

I was thinking it could be done, but have never had the old style in hand to look at. That is much nicer than the plastic ramline...

I was just at Cabelas tonight and seen a Remington replacement black fiberglass stock set for a 7600. Anyone know if this would work for the OP if he wants to go this route?

My experience with the black rem ones is there is a cut off date and I cannot remember off the top of my head if it is 1968 or not. guns prior no guns after yes
