If I recall correctly, when I was working in a local gun store at that time, they were retailing for approx $2200.
The newer ones are HD glass so a step up in optics quality. Before the new HD model was introduced I was looking at one and it was retailing for approx $2700.
Used glass in good shape typically sells for 75% of its original value, unless in a harder to find model, which has been commanding premiums.
There was the one mentioned above that sold and the asking price had dropped to $1800; it included the Swaro case (which goes for over $400 today). It was originally listed for more, and took a while, and a few price drops before it sold.
Another one that just sold was the HD 25-50x65 model that had an asking price of $2000. The 25-50 wide angle lense is more expensive than the 20-60 on the one website; not exactly sure why. I have not called to ask.
Most others listed of late have had asking prices of $2400-2700. Some HD, some not. Cannot say what the actual selling prices have been.
The new HD ones are $3200 plus depending on the retail price the store sets.
For example, one site that currently has them in stock has it listed at $3476 for the 20-60x65 kit, and on sale for $3128.
I know that when I was working at the gun store, we did a side by side field comparison of the Swarovski, the Zeiss and the Leica (all in 20-60 models with same obj size) and the Swarovski was the one with the best optics of those used in that test. The glass was just a little clearer, brighter, and able to resolve smaller targets just a little better at longer distances (1000-1500 yards). And they were all priced at approx $2200.
Great scopes and I have always desired one, but just haven't done so as yet. But I still watch them! LOL And I actually tried on the two mentioned, but was too slow.
